All Whatcom County elementary school-age (K-6) youngsters are invited to participate in the county folkstyle (like high school style) wrestling league at their nearest location. Registration will be held from 6:00-7:30 PM on Thursday, September 28, at the following team sites:

· Blaine High School Ken Waters Gym (Wrestling Room)
· Nooksack Valley Middle School Playshed
· Lynden High School Jake Mayberry Gym (Wrestling Room)
· Meridian Middle School Cafeteria

Practices and matches will run twice a week throughout October, and culminate with a championship tournament at Blaine High School on November 4. Specific practice dates and times will be determined on registration night by each individual team, with an effort to work around soccer and football schedules. The league fee due at registration is $10 per student, which covers insurance. A small fee for t-shirts or other expenses may be required at individual team sites.

The league's focus is on sportsmanship, fundamentals and fun, and on providing a local opportunity for youngsters to compete in folkstyle wrestling against others of the same age and experience level, at a modest fee. For more information, please contact league director Craig Foster at 360-371-7467.
